Plastic pollution is one of the world's major environmental challenges, affecting wildlife on land and in the sea and contributing to the climate crisis. According to the 2017 RECOUP Household Collection Survey, it is estimated that 7.7 billion plastic water bottles, a truly shocking figure, are used every year in the UK. By carrying a reusable bottle instead, we can help to reduce that total.
World Refill Day on Wednesday 16 June is a chance to raise awareness of the devastating impact of plastic pollution and we will be joining with millions of people around the world in choosing to reuse and refill.
Anyone placing an online order with Replenishh on 16 June will receive a free Replenishh reusable water bottle. These single walled bottles with a twist on lid have a volume of 650ml and are made of BPA-free Eastman Tritan™ environmentally kind plastic, a material that is not manufactured with bisphenol A (BPA) or other bisphenol compounds, such as bisphenol S (BPS).
For every order placed, Replenishh will also make a donation of £5 per order to City to Sea
, an environmental organisation campaigning to stop plastic pollution and seek practical solutions to the plastic problem.
Jim Rugg, Head of Replenishh, explains the reasons for getting involved in World Refill Day.
As an EV charging station distributor we are acutely aware of the impact people have on the environment through their daily life. Picking up a bottle of water on the way to work (in whatever kind of vehicle) may seem insignificant, but its cumulative impact is threatening an environmental catastrophe. It is important that we take action now, which is why we are giving away reusable water bottles and asking people to reduce their plastic waste.
They will be available on a
first come, first served
basis and can be added to your order in the checkout on Wednesday 16 June only.
