How Replenishh helped Mr Electric charge up DPD

DPD drivers in Cornwall have now gone electric, thanks to Replenishh and Mr Electric.

Mr. Electric®, the UK’s leading electrical franchise brand, was selected by parcel delivery company DPD to assist with the roll out of its fleet of electric vehicle (EV) delivery vans. As Mr Electric’s supplier of EV charging stations, Replenishh was involved in two of these new installations.

Two DPD delivery drivers in Cornwall, Nick Lott and Simon Penter, cover a patch from Newquay to St Austell and recently made the switch from diesel to new Nissan e-NV200 small vans. Equipped with their more sustainable mode of transport, both drivers needed an affordable and user-friendly EV charging point installed at their homes to enable them to fulfil their daily deliveries from a single charge while they slept.

Tasked with finding an accredited EV installer, Nick got in touch with three local electrical businesses who could advise and install home charge points. Mr Electric was one of the firms who was approached. Replenishh supplied two eoBASIC 7.2kW charging stations for the installations, which were installed by Steve Barlow, Director of Mr Electric Cornwall.

“I was very pleased with the service I received from Replenishh,” said Mr Barlow. “We have been working with Rapid and now their new brand Replenishh for most of this year and have been impressed with their professionalism and customer service. Jim Rugg from Replenishh has talked to our engineers about what is involved with installing EV charging stations and has also attended several site surveys with myself and colleagues.

Mr Barlow strongly fully supports the growing demand for sustainable green transport technology and the need to be emission-free by 2050. “We have seen an increase in demand for EV charging points in Cornwall over the past six months, with our sales having doubled and enquiries quadrupled. It is great to see that many more consumers and businesses are embracing these emerging technologies and are looking for new ways to reduce rising fuel bills and reduce their carbon footprint. As expert electrical installers, our network of electricians is ready to support those wanting to realise the opportunities in EV charging.”
